GMEN Connections: Rural Small Businesses Capacity Building Services
The GMEN Connections provides capacity-building services through training and technical assistance to rural small businesses in central Georgia. This program creates a pipeline of opportunities for rural business owners to establish an economic foothold in metro Atlanta by linking rural and urban businesses together to provide a supply chain for sales and distribution of food and produce.
GMEN Connections Counties Served
GMEN Connections will serve the counties with the highest need. The fifteen counties in Georgia needing the most assistance are: Clay County, Hancock County, Jenkins County, Lincoln County, Macon County, Montgomery County, Quitman County, Randolph County, Taliaferro County, Taylor County, Telfair County, Warren County, Webster County
Wheeler County, Wilcox County.
Agribusiness is a Critical Industry in GA Economy
Georgia has many small businesses and family farms involved in food production, including farming and contract farming, seed supply, agrichemicals, farm machinery, wholesale and distribution, processing, marketing, and retail sales. Through the GMEN Connections project, GMEN will continue to help rural businesses deliver proven techniques and strategies for small agribusinesses.
